Georgia state law requires helmets for those 16 and older. Anyone one year and older may ride.

Rosario Russell Fiore began sculpting and drawing as a young boy and gained his formal art training in New York at the National Academy of Design, the Beaux Arts Institute of Fine Arts and the Mechanic Institute. Throughout the 1930s, Fiore worked with the Works Progress Administration (WPA) and sculpted historic figures for The Smithsonian, the National Park Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Special daily programs include talks on treatments, feedings, rehabilitation programs; a puppet show on the life of a sea turtle, Saturday 3:00 p.m. and Sunday 2:00 p.m.; Turtle Tales, a book reading and craft project, Saturday 10:30 a.m. Summer programs (fee): Family Adventures - two-hours, work your way up to being an expert on turtles beginning with hatchlings, late June to early August, Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; Turtle Walks - following an orientation at the center and concluding with a guided beach walk, June to July, excluding holidays, daily 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; Nest Walks - assist researchers in collecting data during hatchling season, Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
