The Fitts Museum was once known as the Captain Jesse Eaton's place. The original one-room home (now the kitchen) and the loft above, was the first dwelling on the site. The Federal style front section was added in about 1820. The Fitts Family donated the home, and adjoining grounds, to the town of Candia in 1901 to house a library and museum. The collection contains many artifacts passed along by Candia residents of the 18th to 20th centuries - furniture, glass and china, musical instruments, paintings, books and documents, tools and items of everyday life.
Hours & Admission July and August, Saturdays. Free. Donations welcome.
