Things to Do in New Mexico

Native Americans, Spanish and Mexican cultures influence the state: ruins at Aztec and Pecos,  Gila Cliff Dwellings, Chaco Canyon, petroglyphs and Bandalier’s ancestral pueblo homes. Santa Fe is famous for its arts district and Georgia O’Keefe Museum. Natural attractions include Carlsbad Caverns and Capulin Volcano. Route 66 contrasts with the historic Santa Fe trail. Taos is a popular ski resort. Find many things to do: ghost towns, hot springs, Roswell UFOs, forts, ranches, missiles, Los Alamos and Kit Carson. Albuquerque, the capital, features an aquarium, garden, zoo, Old Town, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and balloon and rattlesnake museums. Restaurants serve southwest cuisine. Stay in hotels, inns, B&Bs and resorts.
