Things to Do in Rhode Island

This is the smallest state. The capital, Providence, showcases founder Rogers Williams and attractions - John Brown’s museum, the Rhode Island School of Design and architecture along Benefit Street, plus Waterplace Park, downtown along the river. At Bristol, tour the Blithewold Mansion, plus its gardens and at Pawtucket see Slater Mill, the birthplace of America’s Industrial Revolution. On the coast, Newport has a long list of things to do: mansions on Bellevue Avenue, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Cliff Walk, the Museum of Yachting, Touro Synagogue and sailing. Take a ferry to Block Island to explore the village and nature. Expect to find lobster on the menu at local restaurants. Stay in hotels, B&Bs and inns.
