Known for koi filled ponds, stone architecture, colorful botanic displays and a 55-foot waterfall, the Japanese Tea Garden has been a San Antonio favorite for generations. More than a decade ago, the Japanese Tea Garden fell into disrepair.

River Walk, also known as Paseo del Rio, is San Antonio's top tourist attraction that runs through the heart of downtown connecting shopping, dining, hotels and historic landmarks.

Designed to evoke Venice, the River Walk has helped craft the city's economy and inspire its culture. Situated down to 20-feet below street level, visitors can walk along pathways on either side. Pedestrian bridges and city streets cross over River Walk, allowing visitors access to activities on both banks, ranging from waterfront sidewalk cafés with mariachi bands to more peaceful garden-like settings.

River tours (fee) provide visitors a unique perspective of the attraction while sharing its history.

Housed in the castle-like former Lone Star Beer brewery, SAMA’s collection contains more than 25,000 works of art representing over 5,000 years of history and cultures from around the world.

Journey to Atlantis, a thrilling family ride, combines a traditional roller coaster and a water ride. The Steel Eel at top speeds of 65 miles per hour, includes a 150-foot first drop and full camelback hill to its 44-degree bank and S-curves. The eight-story tall, The Great White, offers breathtaking loops, spirals and corkscrews.

The towering flume ride, Texas Splashdown, drenches guests from beginning to end. Rio Loco features a six-person circular raft that takes on a 1,800-foot crazy river while navigating unexpected dips and bends, plus a drenching waterfall along the way.

Shamu's Happy Harbor provides a "mom, can we stay longer" type of fun with a wacky water area, a giant sand box, net climb, bridges and a replica of a ship complete with water spraying cannons.

Neighboring Lost Lagoon Waterpark features endless fun. Try body surfing in the wave pool or go tubing along a winding, 1,200-foot-long water route enhanced by tunnel jets, foam shooters and misters. Climb the 48-foot tower to the top of Sidewinders, and then descend down one of the multi-flume waterslide.

How about a splash attack? Navigate past geysers, sprays, giant dumping buckets and spouts. Perfect for a hot day in Texas, the tropical activity pool has floating sea animals, a corkscrew water slide and inviting waterfalls.
