Known for koi filled ponds, stone architecture, colorful botanic displays and a 55-foot waterfall, the Japanese Tea Garden has been a San Antonio favorite for generations. More than a decade ago, the Japanese Tea Garden fell into disrepair. In spring 2008, following a $1.6 million renovation, the sanctuary re-opened to the public....

River Walk, also known as Paseo del Rio, is San Antonio's top tourist attraction that runs through the heart of downtown connecting shopping, dining, hotels and historic landmarks. Currently, this two-mile stretch flows through the central business district, winding alongside the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, more hotels, a shopping mall and theaters. Designed to evoke Venice, the River Walk has helped craft the city's economy and inspire its culture. Situated down to 20-feet below street level, visitors can walk along pathways on either side. Pedestrian bridges and city streets cross over River Walk, allowing visitors access to activities on both banks, ranging from waterfront sidewalk cafés with mariachi bands to more peaceful garden-like settings. The world-famous killer whale Shamu has thrilled guests from around the world for many years as the headliner in his own Shamu show. California sea lions Clyde and Seamore continue to entertain audiences.
