Utah Things to Do

Ranging from deserts to mountains, the state’s attractions include Salt Lake City, the capital and headquarters of the Mormons. Tour the temple and Tabernacle and then explore the library, popular among genealogists. Nearby is Park City with things to do year-round - snow skiing in the winter and mountain biking and hiking in the summer. National Parks abound – Bryce Canyon with its hoodoos, Zion, Cedar Breaks, Rainbow Bridge, Capitol Reef, Glen Canyon with Lake Powell that flows into the Grand Canyon, Canyonlands, Arches, Timpanogos Cave and Golden Spike where the east and west railroads met, and Hoovenweep. Restaurants are plentiful around Salt Lake, but pack a lunch to enjoy the parks. Stay in hotels, resorts, cabins and lodges.

	Timpanogos Cave National Monument R.R. 3, Box 200 American Fork, Utah 801-756-5239				Helicites and anthodites are just a few of the many formations in the caverns. The strenuous 1.5-mile climb (a gain of 1,000 feet in elevation) on a paved path leads to the cave entrance and offers incredible views of American Fork Canyon. Temperatures on the hike can reach 100 degrees during the summer, contrasting to 45 degrees inside year round. Note: tour tickets sell out quickly on weekends and holidays.
