Shooter McGee’s This feels like a neighborhood restaurant and bar. The small outside deck adjoins the parking lot but once you’re there and seated the environment feels quite comfortable. We arrived after 9 a.m on the Friday evening of Memorial Day weekend and were able to walk right up and get a table on the deck. Remember that most of DC and Alexandria has headed across the bridge or south on the interstate to the Eastern Shore. On any other summer weekend night, I don’t think we’d have gotten a seat quite so fast. As we chatted away with a friend from town, it seemed like in no time at all our meals of clam strips, an Angus beef burger and blackened chicken pasta arrived. Our total bill was $41 plus tip and that included a nice cold beer. Shooter McGee’s is on the western side of Alexandria on one of the major east-west streets. |
