The Phlash, Philadelphia’s popular downtown tourist trolley, is in
operation from early March to late November. The bright purple vehicle
runs along Market Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway from Penn’s
Landing to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with passenger drop-offs at,
or near, the city’s attractions. Tickets can be purchased at the
Independence Visitor Center, located at Sixth and Market Streets, or
when getting on the trolley. The trolley stops roughly every 10-12
minutes at various places along the route. Managed by the Center City District and operated by the Philadelphia
Trolley Works, The Phlash offers daily service from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. The loop is close to 8,000 hotel rooms and 40 places of interest.
The price is just $1 per person, per ride; children under five and
senior citizens are free. Riders can also choose an all-day pass or an
all-day family pass.
