Things to Do in Michigan

Michigan’s freshwater coastline is dotted with lighthouses perfect for summer recreation, especially in the Upper Peninsula (UP) and on Mackinac Island. It’s also a winter playground – dog sled, ice skate, tube or ice fish. Discover the impact of Detroit on the auto industry at attractions devoted to Henry Ford and cars, and as the home of Motown. Other things to do include Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park and President Gerald Ford’s museum in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo’s Air Zoo, the Kellogg home in Portage, the zoo in Battle Creek, Flint’s railroad excursions and planetarium, and the capital, Lansing. Restaurants showcase local products – fish, cherries, blueberries, pumpkins and apples. Stay in hotels, inns and B&Bs.
