First Landing State Park

The park is on the national register of historic places and the national register of natural landmarks. It was here in 1607 that English settlers made their "first landing" in America before traveling on to settle Jamestown north of this site. Numerous recreational activities also add to the park's popularity, including swimming, boating, nature and history programs, hiking, biking, beach walks, picnicking, cabins and 19 miles of trails including Bald Cypress trail.

From Interstate 64 (I-64), exit 282 (Northampton Blvd./U.S. 13) towards the bay bridge. Exit Shore Dr. (Route 60) south. The park entrance is approx. 4.5 miles.
